Join us Saturday December 17th at 10:00 AM for a presentation by Dr Harry Schneider and Debra Schneider. Dr Schneider is a medical doctor and linguist who began doing brain research using functional neuro-imaging at Columbia’s Program for Imaging and Cognitive Science. He has continued his research at The Brain Function Laboratory in the Departments of Psychiatry and NeuroBiology at the Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Schneider uses Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) in the treatment of his clients. Transcranial Direct Stimulation( tDCS) is an area of research that has already been used successfully for language restoration in non-verbal children with autism. In addition to improving language skills, tDSC is being used to improve emotional regulation, motor planning and most recently to restore language to people who had a stroke and lost their language (aphasia).
There are so many articles about tDCS and more specifically the work he has done. Here are a few links. Dr. Schneider would like you to do your own research so you can come prepared with as many questions as you have.
